ASUU FINALLY APPROVES OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OFFERS
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Friday 8th of September accepted the offers made by the Federal Government to be subjected for considerations concerning the suspension of the ongoing strike which has been going on for the past three weeks.
The agreement was made after a Twelve hour Thirty minutes closed door meeting between the ASUU and government delegation in Abuja.
However in spite of the proposal being accepted, the National President of ASUU Biodun Ogunyemi told them that the proposal has to be taken to its members for consideration and deliberation after which a reply would be given back to the government after a week.
According to him, “Now we have some concrete proposals that we will take back to our members for consideration”.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu on his part said that the demands of ASUU is being taken into consideration and they promised to get back to the federal government in a week after consulting with other members.
The meeting started on Thursday around 1:30pm and ended around 2:15am on Friday.
