The ADVENTURE OF BILIKI THE PEPPER SELLER EPISODE 4

Eventually, she heard about what had happened to her daughter, she exclaimed with sorrow thinking that her daughter had died but fortunately someone told her where she could find her daughter. When she saw her daughter she was a little bit relieved at least she's not dead. She was informed by the doctor that her legs had broken that they needed one hundred and fifty thousand naira for the treatment. She screamed, “Doctor! Where should I get that huge amount of money? I don't have penny infact feeding is a problem for the family” (she sobs) . “Madam there is nothing I can do about that, just find a way to get the money as soon as possible so that your daughter can be back on her feet” the doctor said and left.

Biliki was hit by the son of a Rich man in the society, Rich man’s son and their ego sha, immediately they dropped her in the hospital, he disappeared. Biliki’s mother found her way to the house of the rich man, when she got there the  boy denied it. “I didn't even drive that day, this is a fabricated story, if you need help tell us we would give you money instead of lying. “We only feed on the little we have and we never complained but this is just too much for me to handle, the doctor said I should bring one hundred and fifty thousand naira, please just help me with any amount”, “she pleaded”. Unfortunately Mama Biliki was chased out of the compound.

Every morning, she would stay at the road side to beg people for money, she was able to gather N15,000 but on getting to the hospital the doctor rejected it, she was left with no choice but to carry her daughter home in that terrible condition. She wept bitterly as the leg got swollen. A neighbor advised her to take her to Baba Kuja (A specialist in amputating legs) instead of leaving the leg to rot, at first, she didn’t want to but she later agreed on taking the decision because there were no other options.
